Infused with fun, humor, and plenty of student participation,my presentations will take students step-by-step through the process of making a picture book.
The basic stages of a book's development will all be explained, such as the manuscript, the book "dummy", and the finished paintings ready to be printed. The role of an editor will be explained and compared to that of a teacher. Special emphasis will be placed on the importance of revising one's work in order to make it better.
Drawing demonstrations incorporating student participation will follow, as students are invited to "direct" my drawings, as we design characters and/or pictures together.
My fee requirement is $800 per full day, which includes three 45 minute presentations plus unlimited time for signing books.
